A Note from Bethany Hughes, PA This October, we are bringing attention and awareness to a common skin problems – Eczema. Eczema is one of the most common skin conditions we treat at Tru-Skin Dermatology. It affects people of all ages and skin types. There are several known triggers of eczema including fragrance, dry air, sweat and stress. At Tru-Skin, our providers cater specific regimes to improve eczema and reduce flares. Applying moisturizers after bathing is an important aspect of eczema treatment. Moisturizers act as a protective barrier, prevent water loss and heal compromised skin. Over-bathing can cause eczema to flare so be sure to limit bath time. Patients with eczema should apply moisturizers that are: 1. In cream or ointment form 2. Fragrance free 3.
