Kybella®

KYBELLA is the only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA for improving the appearance of submental fullness, often referred to as a double chin.

KYBELLA is a formulation of a naturally occurring-substance (deoxycholic acid) that targets and destroys fat cells in the area where it’s injected. Once those cells are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat, resulting in a contoured jawline. Treatment is 1 session every 2 months, for a total of 3 sessions.

KYBELLA leaves a smooth, contoured jawline, and re-treatment is not expected to be required.

BOTOX® FAQs

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic and how does it work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). It works by blocking the nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes persistent lines to form between the brows.

Why consider BOTOX® Cosmetic?

There is no surgery or recovery time. BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks nerve impulses to the muscles in your forehead – called the “corrugator” and “procerus” muscles – reducing their movement. This decreased muscle activity helps lessen the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows for real, noticeable results.

Is BOTOX® Cosmetic right for me?

Only your healthcare professional can determine whether BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you. However, you should not use BOTOX® Cosmetic if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in BOTOX® Cosmetic, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product (Myobloc® [rimabotulinumtoxinB], Dysport® [abobotulinumtoxinA], or Xeomin® [incobotulinumtoxinA]), or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.

How fast will I see results?

BOTOX® Cosmetic starts to work within 24 to 48 hours. In clinical trials, a majority of people saw significant improvement at 7 days, with results continuing to improve for up to a month.¹

How long will my results last?

Visible results have been proven to last up to 4 months. Your results may vary.

Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.

What does my health care profession need to know before my BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?

Tell your healthcare professional about:

– All your muscle or nerve conditions (eg, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome)
– Any prescription or nonprescription medicines, vitamins, muscle relaxants, or herbal products you take, or if you have recently received an antibiotic by injection.
– All your medical conditions including previous or upcoming surgeries, weakness of forehead muscles, or any other facial abnormalities
– If you are currently pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant
– If you are currently breast-feeding or plan on breast-feeding
– If you have received any other botulinum toxin product in the past, particularly in the last 4 months

What are the possible side effects with BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?

Serious and/or immediate allergic reactions have been reported. Possible side effects include itching, rash, red itchy welts, wheezing, asthma symptoms, or dizziness or feeling faint. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you are wheezing or have asthma symptoms, or if you become dizzy or faint. Other side effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic may occur, including dry mouth, discomfort or pain at the injection site, tiredness, headache, neck pain, and eye problems such as double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight, drooping eyelids swelling of your eyelids, and dry eyes.

Dysport®

Prescription Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.

Dysport is a formulation that has been shown to deliver temporary improvements in moderate to severe frown lines, even with repeat treatments. So, the effect of repeat treatment with Dysport may be comparable to your first use.

Dysport® FAQs

What is Dysport©?

Prescription Dysport® is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.

How does Dysport© work?

Over time, the muscles above and between the eyebrows repeatedly contract and tighten, causing wrinkles. But, with just 1 injection into each of 5 points between and over the eyebrows, Dysport® blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines.

What causes frown lines?

Frown lines are caused by a number of factors. Over time, repeated movement of the facial skin by the brow muscles forms lines between the eyebrows. Frown lines are “dynamic”—they happen because of the way a person’s face moves.

Are frown lines always related to age?

Contrary to popular belief, frown lines are not always caused by age. Age is a factor, but repeated facial movements, such as frowning or squinting can also create frown lines, which means they may develop even in younger adults.

What can you do about frown lines?

Treatment with prescription Dysport® can temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines. Treatment generally takes just 10 to 20 minutes and results last up to 3 months.

What are the possible side effects of Dysport©?

The most common side effects are nose and throat irritation, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, upper respiratory tract infection, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, sinus inflammation and nausea.

Xeomin®

Xeomin® is a prescription medication used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. Over time and as the skin ages, repeated frowning and facial expressions can cause deep and persistent lines, especially as skin loses its elasticity. When injected intramuscularly, Xeomin(R) acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent the muscle fibers from contracting, and can temporarily reduce the lines on your forehead between your brows (frown lines). There is little or no downtime associated with this treatment, and results can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months in some patients.

Xeomin® FAQs

What is XEOMIN®?

XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) for injection, for intramuscular use, is a prescription medication used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults.

XEOMIN® contains botulinum toxin type A, a naturally occurring protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

How does XEOMIN® work?

When you squint or frown the muscles between your brows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines.

Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in XEOMIN® acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting so forcefully. By reducing these contractions, XEOMIN® can temporarily reduce the lines on your forehead between your brows.

Is XEOMIN® proven?

XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) for injection, for intramuscular use, was proven effective in two randomized, double-blind, multicenter, placebo-controlled clinical trials of 547 healthy, adult patients. The average age of patients in the study was 46 years. Patients received 20 Units of XEOMIN® and were classified as responders if they had a 2-grade improvement on a 4-point scale as assessed by the physician and patient. Using these criteria, treatment success was higher with XEOMIN® received FDA approval for aesthetic use in 2011.

What should I tell my doctor before treatment?

Before receiving treatment with XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) for injection, for intramuscular use, you should tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including whether you have a disease that affects your muscles and nerves, have allergies to any botulinum toxin product, or have experienced any side effect from any other botulinum toxin in the past.

In addition, tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

Especially tell your doctor if you have received any other botulinum toxin product in the last four months or in the past. Be sure your doctor knows exactly which product(s) you received and when your received them.

What can I expect during treatment?

Visible results have been proven to last up to 4 months. Your results may vary. During treatment, which usually takes about 10-20 minutes, your doctor will inject XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) for an injection, for intramuscular use, into the muscles in your forehead that cause frown lines between your brows. No anesthesia is required; however, your physician may use a topical anesthetic or cold pack to reduce any discomfort.

When can I expect to see results?

In clinical trials, some patients observed visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. The median first onset of effect was less than a week. The maximum effect occurred at 30 days. The typical duration of effect was up to 3 months in clinical trials but may last significantly longer or shorter in individual patients.

What are the possible side effects of XEOMIN®?

XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) for injection, for intramuscular use, may cause serious side effects, including allergic reactions. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include: itching, rash, redness, swelling, wheezing asthma symptoms, or dizziness or feeling faint. Tell your doctor or seek medical help right away if you have wheezing, experience other asthma symptoms, or if you become dizzy or faint.

It’s a nonsurgical filler that instantly provides a smooth, natural-looking appearance to the cheek area, made from modified hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring complex sugar. Juvederm Voluma® XC is specifically formulated to correct volume loss and enhance contour to the cheek area, creating a youthful appearance clinically proven to last up to 2 years with optimal treatment.

What is the difference between Juvederm® XC and Juvederm Voluma® XC?

Juvederm® XC and Juvederm Voluma® XC work on a different area of the face. Juvederm® XC smoothes out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, like parentheses. JUVÉDERM Voluma XC, however, adds volume to the cheek area. Juvederm® XC is clinically proven to last up to 1 year with optimal correction at initial treatment, and Juvederm Voluma® XC is clinically proven to last up to 2 years with optimal treatment.

What is the difference between Juvederm Voluma® XC and other dermal fillers?

Juvederm Voluma® XC was specially designed to fill and lift the mid-face and cheeks. It uses a new advanced technology from Allergan which is called Vycross that results in a smooth gel that flows easily and consistently and which can be nicely sculpted. This special cross-linking technology not only produces the lift and fill that is unique to Voluma, but it also contributes to its long-lasting nature.

What is the treatment process?

Before the initial procedure, you will have a consultation with your healthcare provider to determine if Juvederm Voluma® XC is appropriate for you, review your expectations and desired results, review any potential side effects, as well as identify the areas to treat. Juvederm Voluma® XC is nonsurgical, and you should be able to get back to your full routine after 24 hours.

Is the treatment painful?

Juvederm Voluma® XC contains lidocaine, a numbing agent designed to minimize pain that can occur during treatment. Your doctor may also choose to numb the treatment area with a topical numbing cream to further minimize pain.

How long will my results last?

Your results will last up to two years with optimal treatment. There is evidence that hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm® actually help to stimulate the production of new collagen by your own body so that longer duration of improvement may be seen. Also depending on various factors of your health, weight and body chemistry as well as the volume injected and the skill of the injector duration of correction may be shorter (or even longer) than two years.

What are possible side effects of Juvederm Voluma® XC?

Side effects are moderate (uncomfortable) and generally last 2 to 4 weeks. The most common side effects include temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration and itching.
To report a side effect, please call Allergan Product Surveillance at 1-877-345-5372
